Sirsy

Caught Sirsy at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village on Saturday night. You’ll find their tour details at www.sirsy.com. The duo of Melanie Krahmer and Rich Libutti sound like six musicians. Little wonder. She plays drums while standing – reminiscent of Velvet Underground, bass (played on keyboard with drum sticks), flute and melodica. Libutti plays a roughed up and beautiful sounding Rickenbacker (world’s best and most understated guitar)….among other things, including bass pedals. Refreshing without being annoying. A unique band with a unique sound. Go see them!

Refreshing……yes…..without being annoying? Well Mark…must have been your lucky night to see the wonderfully talented and genuinely unique duo SIRSY!! UPSTATE NY thinks they are the best band ANYWHERE!

  2. Kim, Upstate NY has to be one of the most amazing talent sources on the planet. Saw Martin Sexton (from Syracuse) at the John Lennon Tribute Concert in NYC. He blew me away. Then Sirsy did the same thing on Saturday night. Completely blew me away.
