Venus In Fur

Venus in Fur is possibly the best theater I’ve seen in my life. Hugh Dancy as Thomas is brilliant. Nina Arianda as Vanda is mind blowing in her ability to switch roles from the aspiring actor to the character she’s auditioning to play. On Broadway until June 17, if you have the opportunity, go see it. This play should be on any theater-lover’s bucket list. Sex, power, male-female relationships are laid bare in this fast banter-based piece of theater. Very touching moments and intense emotions will keep you on the edge of your seat during a play that all takes place in one room. An hour and forty minutes with no intermission fly by in a blink. I’d see it several times if I could. Nina Arianda deserves the Tony she’s nominated for. Followup: Congrats to Nina Arianda on her Tony Award.
